Numbers
Every number has a source.
These figures describe business problems, not our results. We have no customer outcome data and publish none. A figure is printed on this site only if it is in this table.

Figures we deliberately do not use
Widely repeated statistics we could not trace to a primary source, or that conflict.
- the five-minute rule: attributed to HBR; it is not in the HBR studies.
- AI resolves 70 to 84%: vendor marketing; one independent test reported 38% against a claimed 76%.
- a single cost per invoice: sources conflict by 3x between APQC, IOFM and Ardent as quoted by vendors.
